CNC Surface Grinding

Precision glass grinding using a CNC surface grinder with diamond impregnated grinding wheels are used to grind glass and optical materials reducing bulk material grinding up to 3mm in one program cycle.

The surface finish is less than 50 microns maintaining a tolerance of 0.05mm over the surface to 300mm x 200mm. A useful machine for grinding the surface of moulded blanks and machining of glass blocks to rectangles and squares.

Precision edging process uses a precision cylindrical grinder, edging glass components, rods and stacked sheet glasses to tight dimensional diameters up to 160mm maintaining a tolerance to 0.010mm. Useful for edging of polished discs from stock sizes to custom sizes and for step grinding rods, tapers, cone shaped windows and flanges. The machine also gives the flexibility to grind large bevels on the windows to specific angles and sizes.
