UV fused silica is a synthetic silica glass material for use in the ultraviolet, it can be fabricated and polished to manufacture plates, substrates, rectangles, slides and cover slips.

Fused silica plano substrates and plates are used for many UV applications. For UV instruments they act as a barrier to protect sensitive electronic equipment. Silica plates also act as a good UV window for high temperature environments up to 1000 ºc.

The mechanical strength of fused silica plates or blocks can take high pressure and resistance to many chemicals and are widely used in industry and process control automation.

Fused silica plates and substrates can be polished to ultra thin thickness for thin film coatings, microscopy, beamsplitters and microlithography optical systems.

Fused silica substrates have high UV transmissions for scientific research applications as certain grades are florescence free.
